Reggae Boys sufferes first loss in their Concacaf Nations league campaign

The Reggae Boys suffered their first loss in their 2026/2027 Concacaf Nations league campaign after going down 1-nil to ten man Honduras last night at the National Stadium.
Keyrol Figueroa’s 14th minute strike guided the Central Americans to the major historic milestone, as it was the first time since 2013 that Honduras defeated Jamaica.
The visitors were later reduced to ten men, when Dereck Moncada received a direct red card from Costa Rican referee Juan Gabriel Calderon after charging into Jamaica’s Ronaldo Webster near the half line.
In the meantime, Honduras who had never previously won an away match against the Reggae Boyz in Jamaica, hang on to secure three crucial points and leapfrog Jamaica into third place in group B, of league A’ standings.
The Jamaican head coach Rudolph Spied admitted that the Central Americans showed greater hunger to secure all three points.
The loss saw the Reggae Boys slip to fourth in the standings on 3 points.
The Reggae Boys will depart the island on Wednesday for San Salvador, were they will tackle El-Salvador on Friday.
Meanwhile, suriname leads the group b’ table on 6 points after securing a 2-1 win over the winless Martinique last night, while Guatemala moved to second in the standings after slamming El-Salvador 6-nil.
Elsewhere in other concacaf nations league action, Cuba stayed unbeaten and moved to the top of Group E’ on 6 points after blanking Bonaire 2-nil, also in the group St Kitts and Nevis moved up to second place in the standings after a work man like 3-nil triumph over Grenada.
In the meantime, St.Lucia secured their first win in league B’ after carving out a 5-2 victory against Bermuda, Guyana blanked the Cayman Islands 2-nil, while Puerto Rico also scored a 2-nil triumph over Dominica.
