A bomb threat at the Spanish Town Hospital has disrupted operations at the facility, prompting a swift emergency response.

The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) said the management team at the facility is working closely with the authorities to maintain a secure environment.

Patients, staff and visitors have been advised to follow official instructions, while safety measures are being carried out.

In the meantime, Jamaica Fire Brigade Divisional (JFB) Commander for St. Catherine, Superintendent Dennis Lyons said approximately 20 firefighters have been placed on standby as a precautionary measure.
