Approximately 40 students from the Aberdeen High School in St. Elizabeth are benefiting from the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) $10 million post-Melissa Extra Lessons Preparation Programme. 

In collaboration with the Education Ministry, the JPS is seeking to provide free extra lessons for children whose school year was interrupted by the effects of Hurricane Melissa last October. 

Principal of the Aberdeen High School Mr. Audley Feare said the initiative targets students in grades 10, 11 and 12. 

He noted that emphasis is being placed on core subjects, in preparation for exit examinations.
