NWC says it expects to have full restoration of service by end of March
The National Water Commission, (NWC), says it expects to have full restoration of service to customers by the end of next month.
Acting Vice President of Operations, Herman Fagan, said to date, 95 percent of customers have had service restored, following disruption due to the passage of hurricane Melissa, last October.
He said the company is facing some challenges, due to an increase in the number of leaks on pipelines.
He adds that the Jamaica Public Service has committed to restoring power supply to some plants which are still not operational, while generators continue to be used at others.
He was speaking at yesterday’s meeting of the Public Administration and Appropriation Committee of Parliament.
