Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, Floyd Green, says the recent recognition by the Government’s Internal Audit Directorate is indicative of his Ministry’s commitment to good governance, transparency and adherence to established protocols and guidelines.

The Ministry’s Internal Audit Committee has been designated the top performer for the 2024/2025 financial year by the Directorate, after ranking first among 30 committees.

Following an assessment, via the Audit Committee Performance Evaluation Tool, the Directorate found that the Ministry achieved a performance score of 98 per cent.

Mr. Green’s Ministry attained 100% scores in areas including oversight of financial reporting and related matters, as well as oversight of external audit issues.

Speaking with The Financial Corner, Mr. Green lauded the hard work of the Ministry’s technical support staff and the diligence of other key stakeholders.

He says the Ministry’s Internal Audit Committee will strive for further improvements.
