Traffic police to increase early morning operations near parties in effort to reduce road crashes
The traffic police will be increasing early morning operations in the vicinity of parties, as part of efforts to reduce road crashes.
Commanding Officer for the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB) Senior Superintendent Lloyd Darby says there have been several single vehicle collisions involving persons believed to be returning from events.
As of today February 6, 26 lives have been lost in 20 collisions.
374 people died in crashes last year.
SSP Darby says road fatalities continue to be a concern, noting that each year more than 300 people are killed in collisions and that in the last 10 years, there have been 4107 road fatalities.
In a social media post, he urges motorists to be sensible on the road.
