Entertainment fraternity mourns the loss of sound system operator- Supa Dee
The entertainment community is mourning the loss of Supa Dee, a renowned music producer, promoter, and operator of the iconic Supa Dee Sound System.
Culture and Entertainment Minister Olivia Grange, Bounty Killer, and Irish and Chin are among those paying tribute to the late Anthony Wilson, known affectionately as Supa Dee.
Minister Grange in her statement said she was saddened at the sudden of Supa Dee, and that he will be remembered as a champion who took on all corners in sound clashes staged at the Harbour View roundabout in the 1990s.
Meanwhile bounty killer in his post refers to Supa dee as one of his godfathers who influenced his sound from as early as 1992. He wrote that Supa Dee was a great man.
Irish and Chin say Supa Dee’s sound played a crucial role in the 1990s in defining Jamaica’s dancehall culture, noting that their impressive array of dubplates was considered among the best.
Supa Dee reportedly passed away yesterday February 2.
