Over 20 flights between Jamaica and USA destinations cancelled due to winter storm
Over 20 flights between Jamaica and United States destinations have been cancelled due to the winter storm impacting sections of that country.
Thirty-four states in the USA have been experiencing heavy snow, ice and freezing conditions since Saturday.
This has resulted in major airport disruptions with 17,000 flight cancellations in the US, reported for the period covering Saturday to today.
Minister of Transport Daryl Vaz noted that locally, over 20 flights have been cancelled between the Norman Manley International Airport and the Sangster International Airport.
Meantime , President and CEO of the Airports Authority of Jamaica Audley Deidrick advised persons to pay close attention to information coming from their airlines.
