Education Minister says all public schools resumed teaching and learning, because gov’t prioritised recovery
Education Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon has reiterated that all public schools have resumed teaching and learning, following damage and disruption due to the passage of Hurricane Melissa, last October.
Speaking in the Upper House yesterday, the senator said this is because the government treated the recovery as a priority.
She said 95 heavy duty classroom sized tents were donated to schools in western Jamaica, which suffered the brunt of damage during the hurricane.
Dr. Morris Dixon also noted that the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, will be distributing three hundred learning kits to schools in affected areas.
