Fireworks expected as Wray & Nephew Fight Night Series closes season on Saturday
A thrilling night of punches, prospects and professional showdowns is expected this Saturday when the Wray & Nephew Fight Night Series stages its season-ending event at the Constant Spring Football Complex.
The card — stacked with 10 bouts featuring 16 amateurs and six professionals — spans weight classes from lightweight to light heavyweight and promises a high-energy finish to the 2024–25 campaign.
Heron, Moreta headline pro triple-header
Topping the bill is a super welterweight clash between Jamaica’s unbeaten Juzier “Iron Man” Heron and Dominican Republic fighter Jonaury Moreta. Heron enters with a polished record of four wins and one draw, while the 21-year-old Moreta is hunting his first career victory after two losses.
The professional action begins with a lightweight meeting of two debutantes — Daniel Hylton of Hit-Box Gym and Demar Haslam of Stanley Couch Gym — before closing with a light heavyweight showdown between Jermaine “Crossbreed” Bowen of I-Fight Promotions and Dominican veteran Elvis De La Rosa.
Bowen, who improved his record to 5–3 with a victory in September, will have his hands full against the hard-hitting De La Rosa, a 36-year-old with 16 wins (14 by knockout) and 18 losses.
Full slate of amateur talent to ignite the undercard
The evening opens with a lightweight match-up between GC Foster debutant Malik Grant and YMCA’s Javon Lundy, followed by GC Foster’s Joevar Hunt taking on Lesburn Harvey of Montego Bay Gym.
One of the night’s most anticipated amateur bouts features YMCA’s Giancarlo Dujon — son of West Indies cricket great Jeff Dujon — who seeks his second win of the year against Hitbox debutant Nakia Palmer in a lightweight contest.
Another YMCA prospect, middleweight debutant Aaron Nelson, faces fellow first-timer Sameer Mirage of Hitbox.
Suga Olympic’s welterweight standout Sanji Williams returns to the ring against Hitbox’s Kimarley Samuels, while another Suga-versus-Hitbox clash pits Ryan Pusey against debutant Carlos Dwayer in a lightweight showdown.
Montego Bay’s Mark Cunningham and Fit Like a Fighter’s Ajani Williams will battle for light heavyweight honours before the amateur card wraps with a light middleweight meeting between Jaheem Morrison (Fit Like a Fighter) and Kevon McKenzie (LOCF).
Saturday’s Fight Night will also carry a meaningful off-ring mission, serving as a benefit event for western-based boxers affected by Hurricane Melissa as well as the YMCA in Savanna-la-Mar.
