The operating theatres affected are located , at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St. James, Falmouth Hospital in Trelawny, Black River Hospital in St. Elizabeth, Noel Holmes Hospital in Hanover and the Savanna-La-Mar Hospital in Westmoreland.

Having concluded the tour, Senator Thompson noted, that the aim is to get each facility, back to working conditions as soon as possible.

While in Black River, Dr. Thompson and his team also made a stop at the Samaritan’s Purse Field Hospital to assess best practices for the swift restoration of the affected operating theatres.

He described the facility as an immaculate operation which will stay on the island after the humanitarian aid organization leaves.

Dr. Thompson said the field hospital will be a significant asset, until the Black River Hospital and the operating theatre are fully up and running again.
