State Ministers urge persons to support government’s hurricane relief efforts

Persons are being urged to assist in supporting the coordinated efforts by the government to bring relief to Jamaicans impacted by Hurricane Melissa.

Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister Abka Fitz-Henley and State Minister for Information and Education Rhoda Crawford made the appeal.

They spoke to the media on Friday while they toured sections of Southern Trelawny and delivered thousands of care packages and other relief items to residents.

Mr. Fitz-Henley moved to provide assurance to the people of Trelawny that they will get additional assistance.

For her part, Ms. Crawford said it will take a unified effort to ensure that hurricane ravaged areas build back stronger.
