The cruise pier in Ocho Rios, St. Ann welcomed ships today for the first time in approximately 20 months.

The ships’ arrival followed significant damage to the pier in February 2024, which resulted in its closure.

Welcoming the return of cruise ships, Mayor of St. Ann’s Bay, Michael Belnavis told IRIE FM News that Ocho Rios is open for business.

He said unfortunately there was an incident during which a tourist was injured.

The mayor said the police will be dealing with the matter.
