Tributes pour in for late Consul General Alsion Roach Wilson
Tributes continue to pour in for the late Consul-General of Jamaica to New York in the United States of America Alsion Wilson.
Mrs. Wilson passed away at her home this morning.
In a post to his social media pages, Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness noted that he was profoundly saddened by the passing of his friend.
He described Mrs. Wilson as a devout Jamaican whose love for her country was as deep as it was enduring.
He said she dedicated her heart and soul to service, to lifting others, to strengthening the bonds between Jamaica and its diaspora, and to ensuring that the nation’s voice was heard with pride and purpose on the world stage.
He lamented that though the Consul-General’s passing has left a void in the hearts of those who met her, her legacy of devotion, patriotism, and excellence will continue to inspire people.
Meanwhile, the People’s National Party (PNP) says it joins in mourning the loss of the dedicated public servant and extends heartfelt sympathies to her family, including her widower and children, as well as those she worked with at the consulate.
The PNP says it recognizes Mrs. Wilson’s professionalism, loyalty and dedication towards country and friends.
The party notes that Mrs. Wilson’s commitment and dedication will be remembered.
