Jamaica to send first-ever Special Olympics three-on-three Unified Basketball Tournament to Guadeloupe

Jamaica will send a five member team to compete in the region’s first-ever Special Olympics three-on-three Unified Basketball Tournament in Guadeloupe.

Allyia Brown, Sashauna Campbell, Raheem Martell, Maurice Hinds and Giovanni Taylor are the players who will represent Jamaica in the four day tournament slated to take place from November 13 to 16 .

The team will be managed and coached by Elfema Williams. 

As well as Jamaicam the group of competing countries is completed by Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, St Kitts and Nevis, St Maarten, Trinidad and Tobago and tournament host Guadeloupe who will field two teams.

The unified tournament aims to promote social inclusion by combining people with and without intellectual disabilities for sport competition, thereby helping to build awareness and to Foster behavioural change.
