The death toll from Hurricane Melissa is likely to rise as the authorities have received credible reports that  more bodies have been found.

Up to last night 19 deaths had been confirmed.

Eight (8) in St. Elizabeth, 2 in St. James including a child and 9 in Westmoreland.

Information Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon says  reports have come of 5 more bodies, yet to be confirmed by the police.

Search and rescue teams are continuing search efforts
