Residents of Rose Hill District in Lawrence Tavern St. Andrew are in a solemn mood this morning after a 32-year-old woman was chopped to death by a man in the community yesterday.

Dead is Sashana Shaw, a bar operator of Rose Hill.

Shaw’s daughter was reportedly wounded in the incident and is receiving medical treatment.

Member of Parliament (MP) for St. Andrew West Rural, Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn, visited the victims’ family today.

Speaking with IRIE FM News, the MP strongly condemned the incident, which she described as a tragedy.

Cuthbert-Flynn said the attack is a heartbreaking reminder of the urgent need to confront domestic violence in all its forms.

She reiterated her charge for victims to seek the help needed.
