A 14-year-old boy has been charged with murder following the stabbing death of a relative at their home in St. Elizabeth on Friday, October 10.

Reports from the police are that at about 9:50 P.M., the accused and two other relatives were at home when an argument developed between the minor and one of the relatives.

The altercation became physical and the 14-year-old reportedly used a knife to inflict a wound to the relative’s chest.

The other family member intervened and separated them.

Shortly after, the wounded relative collapsed.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A report was made to the police and the accused was apprehended and placed at a juvenile centre.

He was formally charged yesterday in the presence of his mother .

His court date is being finalized.
