Policeman believed to have committed suicide at his home in Williamsfield St. Elizabeth
A Policeman is believed to have committed suicide at his home in Williamsfield District, St. Elizabeth yesterday.
Dead is Constable Arnold Wilson.
He was attached to the Half-Way-Tree Police Station in St. Andrew.
Reports are that about 5:30pm, a neighbour stumbled upon Constable Wilson in the yard hanging from an Ackee tree by a rope around his neck and raised an alarm.
The Police were alerted and the body removed.
It’s reported that Constable Wilson had displayed signs of mental instability which rendered him unfit for duty.
He was on leave and receiving treatment before this tragic incident.
Police further stated that close relatives claimed that Constable Wilson became unstable following the death of his father overseas.
