Three men, including reputed gang leader, fatally shot by police in St. Catherine police operations yesterday

Three men, including one of the country’s most wanted gang leaders, were fatally shot during separate confrontations with the security forces in St. Catherine yesterday.

They have been identified as Bryan “Brico” King, the reputed section leader of the Kitson Town-based Clans gang, Aundrey Trevor-Lee Johnson, otherwise called ‘Bob,’ of Bonanza Drive, and Fabian Robinson, otherwise called ‘Creech Owl.’

The incidents occurred during a series of targeted intelligence-led operations resulting in the seizure of four firearms and multiple rounds of ammunition.

Investigators have described the outcomes as a significant blow to criminal networks operating in the parish.

In one of the operations, around 1:00 P.M., members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF’s) Specialized Operations and the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) came under heavy gunfire in Kitson Town.

During the exchange, King was fatally shot.

A firearm was recovered at the scene.

King was listed as one of the division’s most wanted since 2023 and was a person of interest in multiple murders and shootings.

In a separate operation in Lauriston, Spanish Town, at approximately 12:20 P.M., police acting on intelligence confronted Johnson at his home on Bonanza Drive.

Johnson reportedly opened gunfire on the lawmen, who returned fire.

He was later pronounced dead at hospital.

Two firearms and 13 rounds of ammunition were recovered during that operation.

Meanwhile, Robinson was fatally shot during an intelligence-led operation in Linstead as part of ongoing investigations into the recent multiple-victim shooting in Commodore.

Shortly after 10:00 A.M., police were led to a premises on East Avenue.

On their approach, two men were seen, one armed with a firearm.

He was identified as Robinson.

Robinson reportedly opened fire on the police and was shot during the exchange.

He was later pronounced dead at hospital.

A firearm and ammunition were seized.

All incidents have been reported to the JCF’s Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB) and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
