The attorney representing People’s National Party caretaker for St. Andrew West Central Paul Buchanan filed a claim in the Judicial Review Court today, challenging a recent ruling of the Constituted Authority.

This relates to the results of last month’s general election, in which Buchanan lost the seat to Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness.

Buchanan was seeking to have the results overturned, citing ballot box irregularities, intimidation and voter suppression, among the reasons.

However, the Constituted Authority determined that the matter presented by Buchanan did not satisfy the standard outlined in the Election Petition Act.

Buchanan’s Attorney Hugh Wildman, told IRIE FM News that his client is challenging the decision of the Constituted Authority to refuse his request to refer the matter to the election court.
