Kingston Central Police pledge to increase presence in Text Lane following yesterday’s mass shooting

The Kingston Central Police have pledged to increase their presence in the Text Lane area, in an effort to ensure residents’ safety, following last evening’s shooting incident. 

Six people, including three children, were shot and wounded. 

Commanding Officer Superintendent Beresford Williams told IRIE FM News, that three people – two nine-year-olds – and a teen remain at hospital. 

One is reportedly in critical condition. 

Superintendent  Williams said the other three were treated and released. 

The Commanding Officer is appealing for persons with information about the incident to contact the police. 

Reports are that at about 8:45 P.M. several people were sitting at a premises along Text Lane, when a motorcar approached. 

The occupants of the vehicle reportedly opened gunfire hitting 6 people before escaping. 

The shooting came after Sunday’s incident in Commodore, St. Catherine, where 9 people were shot, 5 fatally including a four-year-old girl. 

Four others, including an 11-year-old were wounded
