The police have released the names of the five people, including a four-year-old girl, who were killed in a mass shooting in Commodore, Linstead, in St. Catherine, last evening.

Dead are 22-year-old Famous Amos from Commodore, four-year-old Shannon Gordon, 19-year-old Jowaine Walters, 39-year-old Iysha Washingston and 42-year-old Mario Sullivan, all from Rosemount District, Linstead.

Police say that at about 8: 50 PM, several people were at a business establishment in Commodore when they were approached by armed men who instructed them not to move.

Some of the victims reportedly ran due to fear, and the armed men opened fire.

After the shooting subsided, nine people and a dog were found with gunshot wounds.

The wounded persons were transported to hospital, where young Shannon, Amos, Edwards, Washington and Sullivan were pronounced dead.

The others, including an 11-year-old child, are being treated.
