Parish court judge found dead by spouse in Trelawny, opposition expresses condolences

A parish court judge was found dead by her spouse at their home in Coral Spring Village, Trelawny, yesterday.
She has been identified as 57-year-old Ruth Lawrence.
Reports are that around 7:00 p.m., her spouse discovered her unresponsive in bed.
She was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Detectives are continuing their investigations.
Meanwhile, the People’s National Party (PNP) says it is deeply saddened by the passing of parish court judge for Trelawny, Ruth Lawrence.
Reacting to the judge’s passing, Opposition Spokesperson on Justice, Zuleika Jess lauded the late public officer for her extensive and exemplary service to Jamaica’s justice system.
Ms. Jess said Judge Lawrence served with distinction until the time of her passing.
She also noted that the judge’s distinguished career in public service was marked by an unwavering commitment to justice and a deep respect for the rights of all individuals.
