29 Knox College students escape serious injury in crash along Williamsfield main road

29 students of the Knox College in Manchester reportedly escaped serious injury this morning after a bus veered off the Williamsfield to Content Main Road.

The crash happened shortly before 8:00 A.M.

Sub-officer in charge of the Mandeville Traffic Department, Sergeant Florizel Williams said the driver of the bus reportedly swerved to avoid crashing into the rear of a vehicle.

This resulted in the bus crashing into bushes.

Sergeant Williams said while several of the students continued the journey to school after the crash some went home due to being traumatized.

Meanwhile, Sergeant Williams is imploring motorists to use dash cameras to help with crash-related investigations.

This morning’s crash, follows another in Gordon Town St. Andrew on September 23.

Over 20 students from the Louise Bennett-Coverley and the St. Martin De Porres Primary schools were involved in that crash.

Reports are that during that incident the bus driver allegedly encountered mechanical issues.
