INDECOM probing fatal shooting of man in Cherry Tree Lane Clarendon last Monday
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the fatal shooting of a man in Cherry Tree Lane, Clarendon, last Monday, September 15.
He is Jamar Farquharson of Four Paths, Clarendon.
Police say Farquharson was fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with lawmen.
A 9mm pistol was reportedly seized during the incident.
Commissioner of INDECOM Hugh Faulkner said requisite exhibits were collected, including JCF firearms, which were processed and boxed for submission to the forensics lab.
He said the family of Farquharson is receiving counselling from the INDECOM’s family liaison officer.
Commissioner Faulkner noted that the officers will be interviewed in the presence of their attorneys next Monday.
The incident has sparked concerns on social media, with a video circulating which is said to be a recording of the incident.
In the video, a man who is believed to be Farquharson is seen unarmed, holding both hands in the air in the presence of armed police officers.
