A Trelawny taxi operator who was recently charged with unlawful wounding, after a video reportedly of him attacking a woman with a machete went viral is facing additional charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.
Charged is 42-year-old Cleon Buckle of Freeman’s Hall District in Albert Town, Trelawny.
Buckle was arrested and charged on Friday, September 19 in connection with the machete attack.
However, investigators from the Trelawny branch of the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) have revealed that an arrest warrant had already been issued for Buckle in a separate case.
He is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a minor in 2024.
Arrangements are now being made for him to be formally charged with those additional offences.
Buckle is scheduled to appear in the Ulster Spring Parish Court on Monday, October 6 to answer to the unlawful wounding charge.
That charge stems from an incident on Saturday, September 14 around 10:30 A.M., when a woman went to his home to retrieve a car key.
An argument reportedly developed, during which Buckle allegedly used a machete to strike the woman on her arm, before repeatedly attacking her across her body.
A report was made to the police, an investigation was launched and Buckle was later taken into custody and charged.
Investigations are ongoing.
