Reggae Boyz climb to 69th in latest FIFA World Rankings

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz have inched up one place to 69th in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola World Rankings, released today.

The movement comes on the heels of their strong start to the Concacaf World Cup final round qualifiers, where they recorded back-to-back victories over Bermuda and Trinidad and Tobago.

Despite the rise, Jamaica remains seventh among Concacaf nations, trailing Mexico (14th, down one), United States (16th, down one), Canada (26th, up two), Panama (29th, up one), Costa Rica (47th, down seven), and Honduras (65th, up one).

On the global stage, Euro 2024 champions Spain have returned to the summit of men’s football for the first time since June 2014, knocking Argentina off the top. The South Americans, who had held the number one spot for an extended period, slipped to third, while France climbed two places into second.

The top ten also saw movement with England holding steady at fourth, while Portugal (5th), Croatia (9th), and Italy (10th) each edged upward. Their gains came at the expense of Brazil (6th, down one) and Germany (12th, down three).

Rounding out the global top ten are Netherlands (7th) and Belgium (8th), while Croatia and Italy completed the reshuffle in ninth and tenth.
