Reggae Girl Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw nominated for the 2024/25 Concacaf Women’s Player of the Year award

Reggae Girlz captain Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has been shortlisted for the 2024/25 Concacaf Women’s Player of the Year Award.

The nomination follows Shaw’s performance in the Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL), where she claimed the joint Golden Boot award with 12 goals, despite being restricted to just 14 appearances due to injury.

Shaw made history with Jamaica and Manchester City Women’s FC, by becoming the first Concacaf player to win the Professional Footballer’s Association (PFA) Women’s Player of the Year Award in 2024.

The forward was also named player of the year in the Women’s Super League (WSL) and won the Football Writers Association (FWA) awards and was nominated for the best FIFA Women’s Player back in 2024.

Joining Shaw on the Concacaf Player of the Year nominees list are Mexico’s Charlyn Corral and Jacqueline Ovalle, Haiti’s Melchie Dumornay, and U.S. players Emy Fox and Lindsey Heaps.

The winner will be decided through a 100-vote process:

  • 41 votes from the women’s national team head coaches across Concacaf
  • 41 votes from the women’s national team captains
  • 9 votes from selected media representatives in the region
  • 9 votes from fans, who can cast their ballots through the official Concacaf website

The voting deadline is September 30, 2025.
