Job seekers urged to be on high alert following what appears to be overseas employment scam promoted on social media platform

Job seekers and potential farm workers are being placed on high alert, following what appears to be an overseas employment scam being promoted on the social media platform, TikTok.

Labour and Social Security Minister Pearnel Charles Jr. said persons should not be fooled by fake job offers, especially since the TikTok accounts are fraudulently using his image to promote the offers.

Mr. Charles Jr. stressed that no prospective employer will ask persons to make payments up front.

He said individuals should investigate before losing their hard-earned cash and make queries to the Ministry when in doubt.
