Cavalier vs Mount Pleasant headlines Match Day 4 in Jamaica Premier League

The Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League serves up a blockbuster fixture on Sunday as defending champions Cavalier and last season’s beaten finalists Mount Pleasant renew their rivalry in a clash that headlines Match Day 4.

The showdown — a repeat of the last two Premier League finals — kicks off at 3:30 p.m. at the Drax Hall Complex.

Cavalier, currently eighth on four points, have endured a mixed start to the campaign with a win, a loss, and a draw from their opening three outings. Mount Pleasant, sitting 11th, are still searching for their first victory of the season after back-to-back draws.

Earlier at Drax Hall, newly promoted Spanish Town Police FC face Portmore United in a 1:00 p.m. encounter.

Elsewhere on Sunday, unbeaten leaders Chapelton Maroons will chase a fourth straight win when they take on Arnett Gardens at Turners Oval, while Treasure Beach FC square off against third-placed Racing United at STETHS in two 3:00 p.m. fixtures.

The day’s other match sees Tivoli Gardens traveling west to face second-placed Montego Bay United at the Catherine Hall Stadium.

Match Day 4 concludes on Monday with a Drewsland double-header: Molynes United meet Dunbeholden at 5:00 p.m. before Waterhouse take on Harbour View at 7:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, fans in Jamaica and across the Caribbean will from Sunday gain new access to the league through a multi-year broadcast partnership between the Jamaica Premier League and Jamaican-owned brand identity agency PPIVOTT.

As part of the deal, 1LuvTV, powered by global direct-to-consumer streaming leader Kiswe, will become the official global streaming home of the Jamaica Premier League. Matches will also be shown on select free-to-air and cable channels in Jamaica and the wider region.

The extensive broadcast package, announced on Thursday, will feature coverage of more than 160 matches across 80 game days, with live broadcasts every Sunday and Monday for 43 weeks.
