The Education Ministry is reporting the sudden passing of a grade 6 student of Bull Savannah Primary and Infant School in St. Elizabeth earlier today.

Reports received from the school’s principal Colin Cameron indicate that the student collapsed in her classroom.

She was immediately transported to the Thames Medical Complex in Junction, St. Elizabeth, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The ministry says the police are at the medical facility and are conducting the necessary procedures.

The ministry says it’s deeply saddened by the sudden passing.

A team from the ministry’s guidance and counselling unit was en route to the school to provide immediate support to students, staff and parents.
