Reggae Boyz take major step toward 2026 World Cup with win over Trinidad & Tobago

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz have moved a big step closer to securing their spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Finals following a 2-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in a Concacaf final round qualifier at the National Stadium in Kingston.

The opening goal came in the 36th minute from Bailey Cadamarteri, just seven minutes after Trinidad and Tobago striker Levi Garcia saw an effort ruled out for offside via VAR. Jamaica doubled their advantage in the 57th minute through Jon Russell, giving the home side a comfortable lead.

With the win, Jamaica tops the standings with a perfect six points from two games. Curacao sit just two points behind after a 3-2 win over Bermuda, while Trinidad and Tobago, who had two more goals by Garcia disallowed for offside, are third.

The Reggae Boyz will next face Curacao on the road on October 10, while Trinidad and Tobago travel to Bermuda.
