EOJ completes final counting of ballots for the General Election
The Electoral Office of Jamaica has completed the final counting of ballots for the September 3, elections.
South East St. Mary was the only constituency left to be completed, and the process ended last evening.
The People’s National Party retained the seat, following the polls.
The results indicate that the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) garnered the majority of votes in 35 constituencies and the People’s National Party (PNP) in 28.
The JLP also gained majority of the votes in all three by-elections.
