The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) has completed the final count of ballots cast in the general election for 45 constituencies.

As at 3:00 p.m. today, approximately 94 % of the 7,294 boxes across the island were counted.

The counting of ballots continues for the other 18 constituencies by returning officers in the presence of the candidates and/or their representatives.

Meantime, as at 3:00 p. m. the final count was complete for two of three divisions for the local government by elections.

These are Olympic Gardens and Denham Town.

The count for Chancery Hall continues.

The EOJ is urging citizens to be patient as it goes through the counting process.
