PNP’s Norman Scott refutes assault allegations
The People’s National Party (PNP) candidate for south east St. Elizabeth Norman Scott, is denying allegations that he assaulted a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) worker at the BB Coke polling location.
In a release, Mr. Scott described the allegations as malicious and fabricated.
Mr. Scott explained that while at the polling station, a group of JLP supporters converged on him, creating a tense situation.
He said the only physical contact that may have occurred was when he attempted to enter the polling station but was being physically blocked from doing so.
He expressed regret over reports that a woman was allegedly injured during the incident and encouraged her to seek medical attention, if needed.
According to Mr. Scott, the attempt to drag his name into controversy is a sign of panic, not strength and amounts to character assassination.
