The Electoral Office of Jamaica says voter turnout up to 11:00 A.M. was 14.8 percent.

The EOJ says it is aware of reports of long lines at some locations.

It explains that this is generally a result of a significant number of electors who turn up to vote without their voter ID card and have to undergo alternative verification procedures, which lengthens the processing time.

Voting will continue until every person in line at 5:00 P.M. is allowed to cast their ballot.
