The Jamaica Track and Field Coaches Association (JATAFCA) has officially opened nominations for its Long & Distinguished Service Awards, an annual celebration recognizing coaches who have dedicated decades to the development of athletes and the sport.

The awards are presented in four categories:

• Lifetime Achievement Award – for coaches who have served over 40 years.
• Platinum Award – for coaches with 30 to 40 years of service.
• Gold Award – for coaches who have given 26 to 30 years of service.
• Silver Award – for those with 20 to 25 years of contribution to coaching.

The deadline for nominations is September 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Following the review process, the list of 20 honorees will be revealed on October 6, which is recognized nationally as Coaches Day.

The awards ceremony will take place on November 22, 2025, where the recipients will be celebrated for their enduring commitment to track and field.
