Over 600 members of the security forces deployed to cover PNP and JLP rallies
Over 600 members of the security forces have been deployed to cover two political rallies in St. James and St. Catherine this afternoon.
The Jamaica Labour Party is staging a mass rally in Spanish Town St. Catherine at 5:45pm.
While the People’s National Party rally in Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay, St. James is to get underway at 6pm.
In a post to Instagram today, the Jamaica Constabulary Force, said over 300 police and military personnel have been dispatched to cover the PNP’s event.
Head of the St. James Police Superintendent Eron Samuels said the security forces are strategically placed to ensure peace and safety.
And Head of the St. Catherine North Police Senior Superintendent Hopton Nicholson said over 300 security personnel have been deployed in the Spanish Town area to cover the JLP rally.
