Jamal Murray Basketball Camp returns to Montego Bay with 200 participants
Approximately 200 young players are set to benefit from the expertise of NBA star Jamal Murray when the Jamal Murray Basketball Camp tips off at Mount Alvernia High School in Montego Bay on September 6 and 7.
The camp, named after the Canadian-born guard whose father is Jamaican, will focus on improving the technical skills of each participant—covering both offensive and defensive aspects of the game. In addition, players will take part in team bonding and camaraderie exercises designed to build confidence and discipline on and off the court.
This will be the second time Murray is staging a camp in Jamaica, following the success of his first visit in 2019. Murray, who played a pivotal role in helping the Denver Nuggets capture the 2023 NBA Championship, continues to use his platform to inspire the next generation of basketball players on the island.
At the close of the two-day clinic, Murray is expected to present gear and basketballs to the participants before returning to the United States. He will then rejoin his Nuggets teammates for pre-season preparations ahead of the 2025–2026 NBA campaign, which officially tips off on October 21.
The Nuggets will begin their regular season with a marquee match-up on the road against the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center on October 23.
