Christania Williams switches allegiance to Austria

Jamaica Olympic relay silver medalist Christania Williams has switched allegiance to Austria and will represent the country in Bobsleigh.
The 2016 Olympic women’s one hundred meters finalist made her debut in Bobsliegh in January this year at the World Cup event in Innsbruck, Austria
The 2018 Commonwealth Games 100metres silver medallist who is now officially an Austrian citizen , teamed up with Austrian pilot Katrin Beierl in the 2024-2025 Bobsleigh season, where the duo placed eighth overall and clocked the fourth and fifth fastest start times of the competition.
Williams also set a new Austrian national start record with a 5.49-second push time in her first-ever Bobsleigh race.
The former Edwin Allen star sprinter was part of Jamaica’s 4×100 meters relay bronze medal winning team at the World Championships in London back in 2017.
She also won silver in the 100 meters at the 2016 Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast in Australia.
