Director of Elections Glaspole Brown says all polling stations were opened on time for special services voting
Director of Elections Glaspole Brown says all polling stations were opened on time to facilitate the voting of special services electors, ahead of the September 3 general polls.
However, Mr Brown told IRIE FM News that there were some minor issues which marred the voting the process.
When asked what those issues were, he promised to give more details later.
Among those eligible for voting today are election day workers and members of the police and military forces.
The 45,455 special services electors are expected to cast their ballots across 215 locations.
Voting began at 8AM and will run until 4PM.
In the meantime, one police sergeant, who cast his early ballot at the Freeport Police Station in St. James this morning said the process went smoothly.
He stressed the importance of having the voters’ identification cards for a more seamless experience.
