ITA urges political party supporters not to protrude bodies from vehicles during rallies

The Island Traffic Authority (ITA) is warning against the dangerous practice of political party supporters protruding their bodies from vehicles being driven along public roadways.
Corporate Communications and Public Relations Manager at the ITA, Dontae Matthews, said during the campaign period persons have been seen on the roofs of vehicles, as well as hanging out of open windows, and doors.
He said the authority has also seen videos of persons falling out of vehicles because they were not seated.
He pointed out that during the two-week period preceding the 2020 General Election, 28 lives were lost in road incidents.
Acknowledging that political rallies draw large crowds, Mr. Matthews is imploring motorists to observe speed limits and navigate carefully through congested areas.
