PNP says it has no intention to impose new taxes to fund its programmes
The People’s National Party says it has no intention to impose new taxes to fund its programmes, if the party forms the next Government.
Spokesman on Finance Julian Robinson made the statement at a press conference Monday morning.
There have been calls from the public, for the PNP to outline how it will fund its programmes and initiatives including increasing the income tax threshold to $3.5 million.
According to Mr. Robinson, the projection of the economy is one factor that will ensure that all the initiatives are achieved without the introduction of new taxes.
He said these programmes will also be prioritized through the national budget.
He further noted that through fiscal responsibility the next PNP Government would not only fund the programmes, but also ease the cost of living for the island’s public sector workers.
