The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) election manifesto will be released on Sunday during a mass rally in St. James.
JLP Achievements and Manifesto Committee Chair, Kamina Johnson Smith made the announcement during a press briefing today.
Mrs. Johnson Smith stressed that this is in keeping with the party’s already planned timeline for releasing the document.
The People’s National Party noted that the JLP’s criticisms of its manifesto were unfounded given the fact that the JLP did not have one.
Up to this point, the JLP has centred its campaigning on its achievements over the last few years with the publication of a booklet and the launch of an accompanying website.
Mrs. Johnson Smith said Sunday’s release of the JLP’s manifesto at the rally in Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay is strategic.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Johnson Smith said the party is confident about its plans for Jamaica’s future and believes the electorate will respond positively.
She noted that the party has taken an innovative approach to the development and presentation of its manifesto aiming to better engage Jamaicans on the issues that matter most.
Echoing her position, Campaign Chairman, Dr. Christopher Tufton added that the JLP is appealing to voters to give the party a continued mandate based on what he described as the JLP’s track record of performance and delivery.
