8 escapees back in custody; woman charged for habouring a fugitive
Only one of the nine men who escaped from the constant spring lock-up in St. Andrew on Tuesday remains on the run.
He is 19-year-old Alunzo Espute of Cassava Piece, Kingston 8.
He was charged with murder.
The police are urging Espute to surrender immediately.
Espute and eight other men escaped the lock up after reportedly cutting through a grill and a metal door.
The others were recaptured between Tuesday and Wednesday.
They are 31-year-old Junior Barnes, who was charged with possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorized ammunition, 25-year-old Kamal Kelly, who was charged with shooting with intent, and 27-year-old Brandon Ennis, who was charged with possession of prohibited weapon.
Also captured are 25-year-old Donque Douglas, who was charged with wounding with intent, shooting with intent and malicious destruction of property, and 18-year-old Fray Messias, who was charged with rape.
46-year-old David Rhoden, who was charged with arson, 19-year-old Richard Bishop, who was charged with burglary and larceny and 23-year-old Talik Chambers, who was charged with identity theft are also back in custody.
Meantime, the police say a woman believed to be Chamber’s spouse has been charged after the escapee was found in her company in Spanish Town, St. Catherine yesterday morning.
Head of the St. Catherine North Police, Senior Superintendent Hopton Nicholson said charged for Harbouring a fugitive is 21-year-old Shamara Holmes.
