The nomination of candidates for the upcoming parliamentary election and by-election in three divisions is to take place today.

Nominations will be done at designated nomination centres across the 63 constituencies.

The two major political parties are expected to nominate a full slate of candidates.

Nomination for the general election will take place from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. while nominations for the by-elections will be accepted between 12 noon and 2:00 P.M.

Following Nomination Day, the EOJ will advance preparations to conduct the elections on September 3.
