Man fatally stabbed at political meeting in Sedburgh Manchester
Police say a man was fatally stabbed at a political meeting in Sedburgh Manchester, last evening.
Dead is 53 year old farmer, Andrew Hendricks of Lower Christiana in the parish.
Reports are that at about 8:50pm, Hendricks and another man were at a meeting at the Jamaica Laour Party, JLP North East Manchester Constituency office when they had a dispute, allegedly over food.
The police’s Corporate Communications Network said Hendricks attacked the man with a knife.
A tussle ensued and the man reportedly took the weapon from Hendricks and stabbed him.
Head of the Manchester Police Superintendent Carey Duncan said Hendricks died at hospital and lawmen are expecting to arrest the attacker soon.
Noting that Manchester is doing relatively well in terms of its crime reduction strategy, Superintendent Duncan is urging political officials to play their part to ensure peace during the election season.
