Sunshine Girls star shooter Jhanielle Fowler-Nembhard has signed a fresh one-year contract with the West Coast Fever, ensuring the Suncorp Super Netball League runners-up will again mount a serious title challenge next season.

The Perth-based club fell just one goal short of glory in the 2025 Grand Final against the Melbourne Vixens. Fowler-Nembhard’s return will be pivotal as the Fever aim to secure their second-ever championship in 2026.

The 36-year-old’s re-signing comes on the heels of a glittering awards haul. She claimed the Stacey Marinkovich Medal as the club’s Most Valuable Player for a record seventh consecutive time, while also earning the Players’ Player Award, the People’s Choice Award, and the Most Valuable Shooter honour.

After signing the extension, Fowler-Nembhard expressed her deep connection to the club and its fans:

“Perth has truly become my second home, and I’m beyond grateful to wear the Green Dress again in 2026.
I can’t wait to get back out there with my Fever Family and chase another championship with our amazing Green Army behind us every step of the way!”

Her 2025 season was one of remarkable resilience. Initially set to sit out the campaign after announcing her pregnancy, she tragically suffered a miscarriage in January. Missing the first two matches, Fowler-Nembhard made an inspirational return to the court, dominating the competition to claim her eighth consecutive league scoring crown and spearhead West Coast’s run to the Grand Final.

The Fever have parted ways with fellow Jamaican shooter Shanice Beckford, leaving Fowler-Nembhard and defender Kadie-Ann Dehaney as the team’s remaining Jamaican representatives.
