Prime Minister and Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Leader, Dr. Andrew Holness has confirmed with the party’s Central Executive that he will announce the date of the next general election during the party’s mass rally later today.

The rally is expected to begin at 4:00 P.M. in Half-Way Tree, St. Andrew.

Dr. Holness gave the confirmation during a meeting of the JLP’s Central Executive yesterday.

The party leader advised candidates to approach the electorate with humility and a commitment to continue to work hard to improve more lives in Jamaica.

Chairman of the JLP Communication Taskforce Abka Fitz-Henley said, Dr. Holness also instructed candidates to focus on working to achieving solutions to issues facing their constituents.

The Central Executive also formally confirmed all selected standard-bearers in the 63 constituencies as candidates.
